Install the coding-agent plugin
Install the official Lead Distro AI plugin into your coding agent with one command. Works in Claude Code and Cursor, with OpenAI Codex coming soon. It turns the agent into a Lead Distro AI expert with guided recipes and slash commands, and connects your account with one browser sign in.
One command installs the plugin into every coding agent you have. It bundles guided recipes for the common jobs and connects your account with one browser sign in, so there is no API key to copy.
The Lead Distro AI plugin turns Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex into a Lead Distro AI expert. Ask in plain English and it sets up campaigns, onboards buyers and suppliers, configures ping-post and the Partner Portal, builds automations, pulls reports, and audits your account, all scoped to your organization.
Step 1 — Install the plugin
In a terminal, run this one command. It auto-detects which coding agents you have installed and adds the plugin to all of them. (A terminal is the text window built into every computer. On a Mac, press Command + Space, type Terminal, and press Enter.)
npx plugins add Lead-Distro-AI/lead-distro-ai-pluginRestart your agent afterward so the bundled connector loads. The installer also keeps the plugin's skills up to date.
| Coding agent | Status |
|---|---|
| Claude Code | Supported |
| Cursor | Supported |
| OpenAI Codex | Coming soon |
Requires Node.js 18 or later (that is what runs the npx command). If you do not have a terminal handy and just want the no-install path, the Claude.ai or desktop app guide does the same job with nothing to install.
Step 2 — Sign in (one time)
The first time the agent uses a Lead Distro AI tool, it opens your browser to sign in and authorize the connection. If your account has more than one organization, pick the one the assistant should manage. After that, the connection refreshes itself, so you will not sign in again unless you disconnect.
Step 3 — Confirm it works
Type a prompt and press Enter:
List my Lead Distro campaigns and tell me what I can do.What the plugin adds
The guided recipes (skills) now come with the connector itself, so every assistant gets them, including Claude.ai and the desktop app. See Skills your assistant knows for the full list. The plugin adds quick slash commands on top:
| Ask for, or run | What it does |
|---|---|
/connect | Connect or check the connection, and see what you can do. |
/setup-campaign | Stand up a new campaign end to end: type, routing, fields, filters, first Destination and Source. |
/onboard-buyer | Add or reconfigure a Destination: price, priority, caps, delivery, targeting. |
/onboard-supplier | Add a Source: cost mode, attach to a campaign, share the inbound API spec. |
/forms, /funnels | Build and publish a lead form or a multi-step funnel. |
| Ping-post setup | Turn on real-time bidding and pick which Destinations bid before a lead is posted. |
| Partner Portal setup | Give a Destination a login and invite their team. |
| Automations | Notify, deliver to a Sheet or webhook, or redistribute and resell leads. |
/report | Pull revenue, cost, profit, and lead breakdowns over any window. |
/audit | A read only health check with a prioritized fix list. |
Safe by design: every action is scoped to your organization, write actions run only after the agent summarizes the change and you confirm it, and the connector never moves money (there are no billing, charge, or payout tools).
Need an API key instead (for a script or a tool that cannot sign in through a browser)? See Connect with an API key.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the plugins command?
plugins is a small open-source installer that takes a plugin from GitHub and adds it to whichever coding agents you have (Claude Code, Cursor, and soon Codex). Running it with npx means you do not install anything permanently, npx fetches and runs it for you.Do I need to be a developer?
